The rainfall disaggregator RAINDIS generates rainfall data with a temporal resolution of 1 minute. Such data is often needed for rainfall-runoff simulations. Input data with a resolution of 10 minutes is needed. Such data is recorded for example by the automatic measurement network (ANETZ) of the Swiss Meteorological Institute (SMI MeteoSwiss). The article describes the used model and its implementation in RAINDIS. The advantages of the application are shown by the comparison of two runoff simulations with different rain data input: recorded 10-minute data, and 1-minute data generated with the rainfall disaggregator respectively.
