This chapter returns to the theme of energy system resilience.  Chapter  4 defined energy system resilience and noted the types of event or ‘shock’ which a resilient energy system might be expected to tolerate more effectively. Here, energy system shocks and possible responses are investigated more thoroughly. The Resilient and Low Carbon Resilient scenarios which are part of the core scenario set are also defined more fully.
