A workshop took place from February 1-2, 2011, in Basel, Switzerland, organized by the infrared team of the Swiss Light Source in collaboration with that of SOLEIL. Experienced synchrotron IR users were asked to illustrate the potential of the IR method for researchers from various disciplines.
