Forests in Ukraine occupy 10 millions of hectares (14.3% of territory). Spatial dissemination, growth and condition of forest depends considerably on climatic factors. In a whole the climate of Ukraine is temporary continental, except of narrow band in the South bank of Crimea where it is subtropical. The continentality increases from west to east, and forest coverage of Ukraine is the most in the west (30-55%), it is equal to 10-20% in the central part of country and it is less than 10% in the south and east part.
