We investigated vegetation patterns on Swiss ski pistes with natural and artificial snow and on adjacent control sites with indirect DCA analysis. The longer artificial snow had been applied, the more the piste and control plots differed in species composition. The patterns of nutrient and snow indicator species are explained with environmental conditions on and beside ski pistes.
