The city of Uster worked out a comprehensive landscape development concept in two stages in the years 2003 and 2005. In this way all aspects relevant to the landscape were clearly laid out and a guideline was compiled to assess those activities that affect space.
In the elaboration process we took care to get the directly affected people involved but also the policy makers and the local people at large. With this procedure we were able to convince the agricultural land users in particular of the project's benefits and to reach a political consensus about the objectives. Thanks to the discussions in an open and fair atmosphere, people of all areas concerned were able to find solutions that all could accept and support.
