Keller, H. M. (1967). Water quality to characterize runoff form small watersheds. In Vol. 1. Referate - Papers - Exposés. Section 01 - 02 - 11 (pp. 264-280). DVFFA.
It is the objective of this investigation to study water quality in relation to discharge from small high country catchements with the aim to predict water quality from discharge data and vice versa to estimate discharge rates from water quality. Measuremente in New Zealand and Switzerland sgow that total hardness and specific electrical conductance are correlated with runoff. The water quality-discharge regressions seem to be characteristic for hydrologic conditions of the particular catchment. From the Sviss catchments it was also found that for constant diacharge rates total hardness is generally lower in Mayand June than in July and late summer. It is suggested that this trend reflects conditions of soil moisture available to streamflwo. However, further studies are necessary.
