Streamflow generation is an important and deticate process. Rainfall events are often very variable and produce highly variable streamflow. The response of the basin-stream system depends not only on precipitation, but also on basin characteristics as weil as on continuously changing antecedent conditions. In this study, an approach to predict the potential for water storage in the basin at the beginning of a rainfall event is made.
