Internal wood structures of individuals as well between trees are an expression of genetic constitutions and highly flexible adaption mechanisms. The major anatomical modifications are triggered by aging processes, tree internal mechanical and physiologcial conditions, climate and extreme weather factors, seasonal ecological conditions on different sites, gravitropical disturbances and mechanical damages on cambial initials.
