Arcangeliella borziana ectomycorrhizae are characterized by an orange colour, which exactly matches the colour or the sporophore peridium. Rhizomorphs are lacking, emanating hyphae are very rare, but cystidia are present on the mantle surface. The mantle of the slightly swollen mycorrhiza consists of two distinct layers, a densely pseudoparenchymatous outer layer with angular cells bearing a hyphal net and a plectenchymatous innerlayer with laticifers. The mantle structure strongly resembles that or some Lactarius species.
