About 60 bird species breed in Greenland, and we saw 29 of them during our expedition. Some are very familiar to us because they occur and breed in Central Europe, e.g., raven, cormorant or little Ringed Plover. Others are familiar to us because they spend their breeding season only in the Arctic and the rest of the year in Europe, e.g., Barnacle Goose or Sanderling.
