In short succession, SylvaVoc, IUFRO's project on multilingual forest terminology at the Secretariat and the IUFRO working group 6.03.02 "Trends in Forest Terminology" of the IUFRO Structure have been, in February 1995 and January 1996 respectively, created to address terminological issues. We understand these activities as mutually beneficial and complementary. We want to present both initiatives here in one article to show the respective activities and their interaction and advantages for IUFRO members and other persons active in forestry and forest research.
